About Filu Design
The Filu Story
I was always on the run heading to different activities and never found a bag big or strong enough to deal with muddy clothes or children’s sports gear. I decided to do something about it by making my own bag.
My first product was a Super Big Bag with long straps that went right round to take even the heaviest of loads. I made it in oilcloth so it was hard wearing and could be wiped down. It caused quite a stir down at the school gate with the other mum’s and before I knew it I had requests for bags from them too.
Out of this FILU was formed.
Coming up with a name was not easy but it is a family business, my husband and two daughters are my helpers and best critics so FILU emerged as a combination of Fifi and Lulu – my daughters names.
All my bags are made in quality oilcloth and I use rip stop, which makes them almost waterproof. On all the big bags the straps go all the way around to make them extra strong and the handles are made long enough to carry by hand or put over the shoulder.
I love vibrant, happy patterns and really believe that practical can also be fun!
